A retinal prosthesis system that could restore the vision of patients with retinitis pigmentosa (RP) has made a stride forward in its bid to be available through the NHS in England.
The device is already accessible in many parts of Europe, as well as the U.S.
If the treatment is made available on the NHS in England, it will bring hope to the many patients with profound vision loss from RP, who could experience the real, and, in some cases, life-changing, benefits of this prosthesis.”

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is an antioxidant found in fruits and vegetables.
Scientific evidence suggests vitamin C lowers the risk of developing cataracts. Risk factors for cataracts include smoking, diabetes and steroid use, which deplete the eye’s lens of vitamin C.
Also, when taken with other essential nutrients, vitamin C can slow the progression of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and visual acuity loss.

Broccoli is full of nutrients. It’s a good source of vitamins A, C and E, fibre, potassium, calcium and protein. Broccoli is also good for your eyes as it contains two carotenoids called lutein and zeaxanthin. These antioxidants reduce your risk of age-related macular degeneration and cataracts.
This recipe is tasty and healthy too!
