Eye Care in Your Own Home

If you have difficulty getting out, you still need eye care. We are able to offer eye care at your home, a family member‘s home, a nursing home or in a day centre.

We see private and NHS patients. We will arrange a convenient time to visit and eligibility for an NHS examination will be checked. Free NHS care will be provided to those who are eligible

We will visit you at your chosen location at the pre-arranged time and will call you before the visit to check that it is still convenient.

We will carry out a full eye examination using special mobile equipment designed for this use. Barbara Watson will carry out the eye examination and also deliver and fit the spectacles in a follow up visit. You know Barbara Watson will be visiting you throughout your care.

We bring all the equipment, a full and varied range of frames and we carry out a full eye examination, including intraocular pressure checks. We do not blow air into your eye to check the pressure, instead we use the icare tonometer which is much more comfortable. We take all the necessary measurements to make sure your spectacles give you the most comfortable and the best possible vision.

We will help you choose your new frames if you require them. Our spectacle prices suit all budgets many of which are free if you are eligible to help from the NHS. The only thing you need to do to access this service is to contact us on 01132 530 904 or 07743 730 129 or click here to email us.

We provide NHS funded mobile sight tests. If you are eligible for an NHS funded sight test you may obtain mobile services as follows:

At Home: If you are unable to leave home unaccompanied because of physical or mental illness or disability

At a Residential or Care Home: If you normally live there and you are unable to leave home unaccompanied because of physical or mental illness or disability

At a Day Centre: If you are unable to access eye care from a practice because of physical or mental illness or disability or have difficulty with communication
